What can happen in a couple of hours…

6pm…

9pm…

I’m just trying to remind myself that these days will soon pass. Soon my boys will realize that using their dressers as springboards and the floor as a virtual swimming pool is actually not in their best interest. Or their face’s, for that matter.

I try to seek solace in the fact that we have excellent medical coverage and only live 2 minutes from the local Emergency Room.

All of these are empty comforts when you consider that this is your child and they came this much closer to escaping death. Again. A feat that adolescent boys seem to look at as a personal challenge that they must defeat.

Let us just review the previous year….

…..BOYS!!!

  3. Maija,
    I will!!
Trust me, this looks SOOOO much better than it did right after. He hurt himself at 9pm but I didn’t actually take that picture until this morning. So the swelling has gone down ALOT!
You couldn’t even SEE his eye when it happened. It just looked like a golf ball with skin draped over it.
    (bleck!)
I don’t think ANYONE would’ve wanted to see that!

  4. Ow, ow, ow… I’m flinching just looking at these. I have my fair share of scars and war stories from running up slides, climbing on the roof, and jumping from my dresser. Hope he’s feeling better soon.

  5. Oh My Gosh! You need a very special Mother’s Day after a year like that! Do you just develop nerves of steel? At least they are living life with gusto! lol

  6. I’m sure I’ve mentioned Danger Boy-8 sets of stitches in 8 years, starting at 8 months. And that’s just part of the story, Boys, indeed!

  7. My goodness! I’m glad I only had one boy, but you girls were such adventure-seekers that you had your fair share of cuts and bruises, although I don’t think any of them were as bad as these. Your Aunte Jacqlin & I were just reminiscing about jumping out of the barn window when we were kids, but of course, in our memories it was way higher than it probably was in reality.

  8. my youngest had a similar like rash after his chicken pox vaccine! it wasn’t so wide spread, thankfully. i was freaking out thinking he had chicken pox. hubby had a barely there case when he was a kid and could get it again.
    hope your kiddo feels better!

  9. Thanks for coming by my blog! I see you have two boy (AND a girl)… I am really just realizing what my future as a mama to two boys is going to entail.

    WOW! and owie.
