Destash Giveaway!!!!!!!

NOTE :: Destash Giveaway is now OVER!!!!
Winner to be announced Saturday April 4th, 6am PDT

This week has been a rough one. Last week involved Bronchitis, antibiotics and cough medicine…..this week entailed a day and a half of excruciating tooth pain and a 3 hour Root Canal on Wednesday. Or……was it Thursday?????? ‘Errrrr……anyway, needless to say, I have been going stir crazy at home and thought it was about time for a little excitement around here (on my blog).

How about a Giveaway????!!!!!!!

I recently discovered that I have an allergy to Acrylic. I pick up the yarn, begin crocheting and all of a sudden, my nose is running and I am sneezing my brains out. It took a short while before I realized……..perhaps it’s the acrylic fiber. It never happens when I’m using wool, angora, cashmere.

Now that I’ve stopped using it, I haven’t had any problems since. Perfect! Problem solved. But that leaves me with a dilemma.

WHAT to do with all that acrylic and acrylic blend yarn in my stash?????

Well, dear readers…..I think you’ve figured out where I’m going with this. I will be giving away my ENTIRE stash, along with a spiffy Rattan Yarn Bag to hold it all in!

  1. How generous to turn your misfortune into someone else’s good fortune! I am new to crochet as of this past Christmas when I made a hat for one of my daughters.

Your stash will be put to good use making caps for a couple of good friends just beginning some very aggressive chemo, blankets and clothes for this summer’s crop of babies (I can’t believe how many friends and relatives are expecting – six at last count!), and of course, preparing my five kiddos for the coming winter. A ways away, but it always comes before I’m ready.

I can be reached at k8rg8r@gmail.com

    Thanks, Kalurah!

  2. I’m so sorry about your allergies! It must have been very disappointing to find that out, but I think this is a wonderful thing that you’re doing! Definitely count me in! I’m planning on giving it to my older sister, as she loves to crochet, but consequently ends up spending her entire paycheck on yarn! This would definitely help her out a ton! Thank you!

I also blogged about this here: http://doodlepoot.blogspot.com/

  3. I’d absolutely love to take the yarn off your hands. I’ve kinda been wanting to ask my sister-in-law to teach me to crochet. We’re both at a low income point in our lives so yarn is out of the budget. You can email me at HaileyJoe@gmail.com. Either way I think it’s pretty cool that you’re just giving away that much yarn.

  4. not very skilled in the art of crochet or knitting, I’d give the stash to my little sister who would likely make awesome stuff for people’s birthdays.

you can see some of what she does here:

It’s easiest to contact me through my blog but you can also email me at:

  5. so sorry you’re allergic ๐Ÿ™

but now at least you have an excuse to buy the expensive yarns ๐Ÿ˜€

  6. Please enable my crochet addiction with your stash!!!
I would continue to make gifts for all the babies in my life- blankets, dolls, play food, beanies and possibly fit something in for myself!
    THANKS!
