Boxed Beauty…

It’s here! It’s finally here!

I’ve patiently waited for this gift-to-myself to arrive for nearly 2 weeks. My mailman probably thinks I am a desperate housewife, the way I would zip to the front door whenever he would arrive. To the contrary, I am a desperate seamstress.

Can you guess what’s in the box?

Another hint: it cost a whopping $30 just for it’s long journey to me all the way from New Jersey.

My, she is quite a beauty for someone without a head.
Or arms and legs.

and mushy boobs.

But just the same, I love her. And I have been dying to get one of these since I started my etsy shop. Not only is she functional for me to use as a model for my items but she just looks lovely standing in the corner.

How about you?
What have you bought for yourself, lately?
Just especially for you.

Oh how I wanted one of these when I was sewing all of my own clothes! I really do miss those days of staying up until the wee hours of the morning to finish an outfit for a convention. But my poor old, arthritic thumbs do not miss the hand work at all.
What have I bought just for myself lately? Hmmm…the only thing I can think of is a set of 8 juice glasses. Oh wait, that was a request from your Dad. My day is coming though, I’m going to Portland next month for a long weekend of shopping with my sister. Weeee!!!

I am so jealous I can’t even tell you. Do you know how long I have wanted one of those? I’m glad for you though, and the last thing I bought just for me was a 3.50 book. But hey it’s what I wanted so I was thrilled.

Congrats on the latest member of your family…at least she won’t nag you or want to know when dinner is ready.

In desperation of spring, I bought 65$ worth of lovely house plants on Friday. They’re bright and perky.

    Mom,
Shopping with your sister covers two very meaningful things, buying something just for you and spending time with your best friend. :)

    Shell,
Hey, it matters not what you pay for your treat. It only matters that it’s for you, and only YOU!

    Mrs G,
IF all it takes is $65 to make spring show up in my house a little bit early, I would totally do it! It can’t come soon enough! :)

Oh, I’m jealous too. I’ve been jonesing for a dress form… but mine wouldn’t be that… uh, thin. :D

As for what I’ve bought… Oh, I bought a vintage thread caddy off etsy 2 weeks ago and it should be here any day. :D And I think I’m going to SPLURGE big time on a dress to wear to a wedding in May.

I don’t sew (besides buttons), but that is AWESOME! Congrats on your acquisition.

    Books, books, books. Thank you!

Mushy boobs? Isn’t that me? I love these photos and wish I could make that magical need/thread thing work.

I bought a book. Buy them obsessively.

  • Cheri @ Blog This Mom!

MM, maybe be yours. Those boobs are too high up to be mine.

My recent guilty-pleasure purchase? A #33 Dillon Panthers Jersey.

Oooooh. I always wanted one of these! A friend of mine used to have an antique dress form from the early 1900′s. Funny how different the modern shape is. Haha.
