coasters, crochet and a little chicky…

shoppe update…

my aunte and cousin both sent some goodies my way this week. vintage fabrics, buttons, patterns, old aprons, the list does go on, so I’ll spare you.

but I was able to use some of the loveliness that was given to me.
I was also able to stretch a half yard of precious “poppy” print fabric into a 9 piece Cocktail Set.

a patchwork bar towel, four reversible patchwork/leatherette coasters and four cocktail napkins.

I thought I would weep when the last of the fabric had been used.
(I know! I always weep when I must sacrifice “pretty” things for my craft.)
I used every single last scrap. the last little 2″ X 5″ scrap was made into a “scrap”ing card. (my take on a greeting card.) I’ll post a photo of that sometime soon.

now, for the crochet.
the buttons my family sent me were just crying out to be used, so I made up another pair of gauntlets and sewed on these petite purple buttons

how cute are they!

I also made up a pattern for a neck warmer. I want to know what you all think, before I list it.

they button all the way up and have a frilly ruffled detail at the top. the button loops are crocheted and the buttons are mother of pearl.
ish.

the gauntlets and neck warmer are both 100% wool, as there was a dear blogger friend who said she is allergic to acrylic. I figured I would make a pair up and if she likes them, they will be reserved for her. if not, I will list them in the shoppe.
and the aprons that the ladies sent….
ohhhhh! I love all of them.
but this one in particular I thought was just adorable! but it just needed something.

Hello, little chicky!

well, today is my cleaning and ironing day so no crafting until later this evening.
(hmph…)
I will be daydreaming of my gifted stockpile of goodies lonesomely sitting in my sewing room.
hoping you all have a winsome Wednesday!

  1. the neck warmer is super cute! i love the buttons. will you be selling the pattern or the actual neck warmers?

it just needs a cute name! 😉

  2. thanks, Suzanne.
actually, I heard from my sister that my cousin really liked this neck warmer when she saw it on the blog, so I mailed it to her. I am hoping she loves it just as much in person!
