new beginnings, and the "runs"…

I am sitting here in my new home.
in my husband’s new office.
at 2:18 am.
yes, that’s right.
2:18 am.

things have finally trickled their way down to a slow pace.
I just finished two loads of laundry at our old place and filled the truck up to the brim!
(you didn’t know trucks had brims, did you?

my two year old has caught a touch of something yucky and hasn’t been feeling too hot! he slept for three hours, from 4-7pm. when he finally awoke, he slithered around the place like something getting ready to shed it’s skin.

then,…..the “runs” started. the thing all potty-training mommies dread most. your kid is in something called a pull-up, but when it’s full of the “runs”, you can’t exactly pull up ANYTHING.
you basically have to peel off the pull-up like a crap covered banana skin and then hose your kid off in the tub and disinfect him like there’s no tomorrow.

as I sit here, typing, he has JUST fallen to sleep on my lap.

just.

tomorrow is chock full of unwavering dread. more loading of boxes. and we still have about 6 very heavy items that need hauled over. luckily, we only have to haul 1/8 of a mile to and from.

I promise I will post again tomorrow evening. I am really trying to impress you all by staying on this “blog wagon” I’ve been riding lately.(almost every day!)

at the end of the day, when things are quiet and I’m alone with my thoughts, I can’t help but want to share them all with you.

even if it does involve the “runs”.

  1. Sorry about the turn of events. We’ve all been there–in fact, I was just dealing with little kid diarrhea and disinfecting toilet seats and getting up with my son every 2 hours 2 weeks ago.
You write when you can, I’ll still check in nearly every day just to see what’s up with you all.
Hope your youngest gets better soon!

  2. Oh! That’s terrible. This is what my very family does for the runs–we swear by it.

Purchase some frozen blackberries. Put a few in a dish and microwave defrost long enough for the juice to flow out–but not so that it becomes hot. Then, take 1-2 Table spoons of the juice very few hours. Very, very soon things will, uh, solidify. Don’t over-do it at first. Start with one TB for a small kiddo and re-dose in 2 hours. Increase the dosage only if there is no relief.

  3. Poor Zan man…

I hope he is feeling better today. We can’t wait to come visit the new house! (And run through the sprinkler together!)
