okay, speaking to those of you who have had more than one child…..no. scratch that. to those of you ,who are not on your own. so those of you who are married and childless or those of you who are married with one or more children…..
have you noticed that with each addition to your family, the things around you begin to shrink?
for example, when you get married, your bedroom closet has just divided itself in half. (or if you’re like me, it’s divided into thirds. I get 2/3’s and my hubbie gets 1/3.)
with each child you bring into the world, you start to lose space in your entire life. you have now lost that “spare” bedroom you had. you realize that you’ve also lost sole custody of your brain.
things that once came to you in a spark now seems to withhold itself like constipation of the mind.
before I became a mother, NO ONE warned me that I would be forfeiting all these things. they’re actually things that I should have been able to foresee on my own.
so, now that our family of five has outgrown our current residence, we have found a bigger one to accommodate us.
now, for our mode of transportation…..um yeah, when you have two adults in the front and three carseats crammed into the back, where is Billy or Sally gonna ride when they’re over for a sleepover? (I haven’t checked yet, but I’m pretty certain carseats aren’t equipped with straps for your car’s luggage rack.)
If it were possible for me to simultaneously drive both of my midsize family cars at the same time, I would, trust me. doing so, would accommodate 6 kids, after all! but alas, the laws of physics are working against me, there.
or, an even more logical answer would be to purchase a mini van or the like.
have I honestly arrived at that point in my life? when I actually find myself fantasizing about driving around in a mini van? next, I’ll be driving my kids to and from soccer practice! no! not that! ANYTHING but that!
needless to say, something has gotta give, here. I’ve googled high and low for a pattern online of a crocheted car, and would you believe it, one does not exist!
so, apparently, we’re going to have to start pinching some pennies around here and start looking for something used. or possibly see about that luggage rack thing???? hmmm…….

ah yes, i understand how you feel, very much actually. my two boys have taken over everything i own, the entire house looks like a toy store vomited everywhere, my brain is no longer “mine”, everything i think about almost always has something to do with them. sometimes i even forget how to talk! โ Damn kids!, but i love them to pieces, i wouldn’t change anything, i can’t even remember what my life used to be with out them or even imagine what it would be like if they didn’t come into my life ๐
Kalurah,
When I had 2 children and was 6 mos. pregnant with my 3rd, we were still driving around in a 2-door Toyota Tercel! I also never pictured myself in a mini-van, but it’s awesome! You can fit everything in there. I’m warning you though, it will be like another room in your house, and therefore it will get very messy just like another room in your house. Sometimes I feel like I’m driving a traveling trash can.

ha, ha! my children ARE traveling trash cans! ๐
