natural remedy…

if you had the day I had, you would be in need of some therapy too.

yesterday’s post was not just another one of my infamous exaggerations for sake of humor.
it was a shamefully blatant cry for help.
and I answered it.

by the time the Hubbster got off work at 3:30pm, I think my face must have had a look of sheer desperation on it.
he no sooner uttered the words, “Wanna get out of the hou……”
and I was practically out the front door, with the keys in my hand and my tongue hanging out. like some pathetic dog who’d been pinned up in the house all day.

I wagged my tail and panted my way to the car.
it didn’t even matter that it was a hundred and hades degrees outside.
no degree of heat could compare to the hell torture I suffered all morning with the boys.

when I need to uncoil my very tightly wound self, I do it best in the outdoors.
never mind, that the Hubbie hates the heat with a burning passion that could incinerate the likes of the temperature outside.
I needed to get out and I was dragging everyone with me!

we headed out to Rooks Park up Mill Creek and what Jason thought was a quick potty break on my part, deceivingly turned into an afternoon hike.

after spending the day watching the boys push, shove, strangle and verbally abuse each other, I was suddenly a witness to two angelic creatures cohesively strolling through the park.
as if…….
they liked each other.

they found themselves sharing one common goal.
the pursuit of fun.
the embodiment of “boydom”. (that’s a word, right?)

then, it occurred to me, as long as you expose these complex creatures to their natural habitat, they would suddenly work together, instead of against each other.

*forehead slap!*

that’s it!
all I have to do, is create an environment that mimics that of a wild animals’.
these are, after all, young boys.
monkeys and hyenas instantly spring to mind.

seriously, though.
this proved to me, that my boys, without a doubt, do honestly like each other.
spitting, hitting, strangling and shouting are just a way for them to communicate their great love for each other.

*shaking head*
Boys!

  1. Boy Energy. If only we could harness it for good! 😀

Lovely lovely photos. I’m glad you got out.

  2. I love it. I’m alone now with just Danger Baby and Iso and those two drive each other and me crazy. I’m talking CPS crazy!

You have such beautiful children: )

  3. Reminds me of you and your sister when you were little. I thought you hated each other at times but I realize now that you were just sisters, like me and my big sister, whom I thought hated me growing up but I now know she loves me as much as I love her and we will forever be best friends, just as Zach and Zander are and will be.
