I made this music player at MyFlashFetish.com.
~The Pretenders
There’s something about these little cuties that makes me think of that song. I find myself humming it’s entirety as I turn these lovely brass lockets into earrings and necklaces.
I’m funny that way. Everything has to remind me of something else.
Ask any of my family and friends. I cannot watch a movie without making mention that this person resembles that person. It often times even ruins the movie for people in my company.
“You’re right, he does look just like him. I can’t stand him! Oh great, I can’t watch this now.”
One of my many great and useless talents, I’m afraid.
I only hope this little jewelry-making endeavor doesn’t turn out to be one.
If you have any suggestions of what you think I should change or add to my pieces, feel free to share them with me.
I’m completely open to any criticism.
But please be gentle, this self proclaimed artist has a large and fragile ego.
I am always willing to admit when I’ve been defeated but I tend to not “go gently into that good night.”
I’m my own worse critic but I also happen to think I’m the best critic in the universe.
It makes for a difficult time getting anything accomplished.
(Brass in Pocket, cont’d)
“Cause I, gonna make you see. Theres nobody else here. No one like me. I’m special so special. I gotta have some of your attention give it to me.” ~The Pretenders

Those are so cool! You made them? Wow. I love the necklace best.
Let’s have no confusion, here.
I found the miniature vintage brass lockets on etsy and made them into earrings and necklaces.
I found the antique brass link chain on etsy to create the necklace and used brass jump rings and vintage clasps.
I WISH I knew how to “make” brass lockets!! ๐
I like them too! You’ve done Chrissie Hynde proud.
Very, very cute! I think they look great just the way they are. I wouldn’t change a thing. Great job!
You are so talented. I think they’re terrific.
kalurah, i wouldn’t be surprised if some day you made your own brass lockets, you’re so crafty!
I LOVE the second pair of earrings. I would snap them up in a minute. They remind me of something my grandmother wore-and she had! You are so talented.
lockets as earrings? that is so clever and adorable!!
I love the Pretenders! My husband hates them. No surprise, we’re polar opposites. Now I’ll be singing their songs all day and I’m sorry but I’ll have to blame you. You understand.. the whole ‘this reminds me of something else’ thing… ๐
Your jewelry is great as is! I’m in awe of anyone who can craft anything! I’m still loving the scarf I bought from you, too. ๐
Laura,
Yeah, my hubbie generally hates whoever I love and vice versa.
And thank you, you are so sweet!
You must realize, Laura, what a huge talent having a great sense of humor and being a good writer really is! Because that is yours, my friend. ๐
