now, how does a young man work in the kitchen and still remain manly?
Capt. Zachary helps me out in the kitchen alot and he finally asked me the other day to make him his very own apron.
“but not a pretty one!”, he said.
well, of course not!
what better way to bake then doing so while sporting Pirate garb?
Zach’s “thing” lately has been Jolly Rogers.
he loves them!
and usually, the uglier, the better!
the one on his apron is just a jpeg I printed onto a piece of cotton and appliquéd to a tea-towel.
and a tea-towel is the perfect size for a child’s apron.
I just cut out two corners from the top of the towel and sewed in a long piece of ticking for the neck hole and back ties.
and of course, he had to have a matching head scarf and eyepatch!
good grief! this life as a pirate is quite detailed.
a part of me even wanted to make him a wooden spoon with a hilt on it!
but I digressed.
detailed or not, what little Pirate-at-heart wouldn’t want to bake in this?
“To the galley, Matey!”

Oh man, I’m going to be in so muh trouble with Sydney if she sees this and I don’t make her one. Pirates as I’m sure you know are her thing.
So cute! I love it.
This is fabulous. Love it!! I want one. 😀
I love this idea and this photo. What a great pirate!
The one who loves all things pirate in this house is… ME! I just bought all three girls “Halloween t-shirts” at Target. On the front? You guessed it: a pink jolly roger sporting a sparkling crown. Now, we are more than just princesses in this house. We are pirate princesses.
On a less random note: you could make lots of money if you made a whole bushel of those tea towel jolly roger aprons! Heck, we’d buy 3! 🙂
oh that’s adorable!
