house warming…

this weekend was busy.
Saturday, was a house warming my mother put together for me.
with all of my close family in attendance.

lots of thoughtful gifts…

wonderful friends…

great food…

card games…

and laughter.

…all in my new home.

whenever my family gets together, it consists of noise, excitement and noise.
we are all a sociable bunch.

in preperation for the house warming, I went to Home Depot on Friday and picked up a lovely tropical plant. I was wanting something tall to fill the small empty space between my sofa and our entertainment hutch and computer desk.
none of the tropical plants had blossomed yet but the leaves looked nice and lush on this one so I brought it home.

it filled the space beautifully and received numerous comments from my admiring family members.

after everyone left the next morning, I sat down at my computer to blog and looked over at my tropical plant.

I was amazed by what I saw.
and also a little moved.

I thought about all the joy and laughter that went on over the weekend in my new dwelling.
all of the happy memories my family helped create.

and the thought that this lovely new addition to our home sprung forth a bloom of it’s own just being in the midst of all our joy.
it seemed so fitting.

almost…..poetic.

when mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.”
