between all the packing and cleaning, there still remains the tedious job of laundry.
oh laundry, how I loathe thee.
unfortunately, I get going on other stuff and ignore the growing pile of clean clothes.
hey, at least their clean!
but by the time the little ones are done jumping up and down in them like it’s the “ball” room at McDonald’s, they practically need re-washed again!
what is so difficult about folding them all and putting them away? I don’t know.
but whatever the actual reason, I am extremely good at it!
I think it’s the sorting part which weighs heavily on me. I hate separating five different peoples clothes and then wandering to five different dressers in the house to put it all away. at least in our new place, the kids rooms will be on the same floor as the laundry room.
one of these days, I’ll get smart and seperate the laundry before I wash, not after.
there.
you’ve discovered my dirty little laundry secret.
I don’t seperate before I wash!
as my mother would say, “Horrors!”.
this is just the beginning. as time goes by and I get even more comfortable in my own “blogging skin”, I’m sure you will learn even more “horrors” about me.
it’s all beginning to unfold.

Laundry is on my mind today, too!
Oh, I sort color but not person. There are three of us, and never enough whites for one person to justify a load unless I let the laundry pile up too much.
But I’m with you. Doing laundry between moving furniture and cleaning out closets and attempting to restore order to some really chaotic spaces is taking it out of me today!
Hang on, right? 😀
Wende,
ya know, sometimes I wonder if it might be easier if I had some laundry warden to answer to on a daily basis. or an annual laundry report card that I had to keep filled with straight A’s.
but really, if there were such things, you’d probably find me hiding in the bathroom, blogging on my laptop! (no. I don’t have a laptop, but I would definitely need one in this scenario.)
*winks*
There’s nothing about laundry that I’m good at.
that’s why I like ya, Galadriel.
the first thing that grabbed my attention about your blog is the name, “I Hate Laundry”.
I LOVE IT!! it sums motherhood up to a T.
whoever say’s they enjoy it, are probably lying…or insane!
Kalurah,
I’m just thankful we don’t have to do laundry like our grandmothers did back in the 40’s. I’ve actually had to rewash loads that had been sitting in the dryer for too long–that’s how much I hate too fold. About separating…I have 2 hampers. What’s supposed to happen is my husband and I throw our clothes in one and the kids throw their clothes in the other. What ends up happening is the kids throw their clothes on the floor and I put their clothes in the other hamper;) That’s the extent of my prewash separating.

Laurie,
I agree! separating-shmeperating!
I have also been guilty of leaving loads to spoil and having to rewash them, also.
BAD, BAD, Kalurah!
we are long lost evil laundry twins!
(separated and sorted at birth!) ;-P
Galadriel,
Hey! ya don’t have to be good at it, ya just have to keep it from growing patches of new botanical varieties or from spawning a new species of tiny people who can thrive on damp environments!
;-P
Ha ha, you should see the things I’ve grown in the laundry! My laundry also has the special ability to breed and grow like rabbits. Good luck with the moving in and take some time for yourself. Oh, and I would have died back in the old days when they had to wash clothes by hand and sweep dirt floors. I would’ve pretended to be a man.
