so, now that I’ve “hung up” my creative hat, as it were (so I can focus on packing), I thought I would leave you with my last sewing project.
a patchwork baby quilt with white minky fabric on the back.
this is my very first quilt and all in all, I think it turned out quite well. I opted out on any batting because I wanted this to be very lightweight for a baby. I very much dislike stiff, non-fluffy baby blankets, that hang over the child like a large piece of paper.
this also works well as a lap blanket. I’ve been keeping it on the couch because it goes so well with the colors on the blanket.
I’m finding it quite impossible to look longingly over at my sewing machine and NOT have the urge to sew something. I don’t know how I’m going to do this. is there a sewing patch that I could wear on my arm? ya know, just for those rough nights when I actually have some free time and I almost fall off the wagon!
no. I can do this…… I know I can. I will just have to rely on my crochet hooks to get me through this very difficult time. now, excuse me while I go sew something er, ….crochet something.

Margot rec’d some of the most lovely handmade blankies, and her favorites are all thin, super soft and light. The quilt looks great!
BTW, I thought you would like this..
