if dirt were a crime, I would be sentenced to life without parole.
I decided after trying to find items (I’m not currently using) to stuff into moving boxes, I would switch to cleaning some things around here.
enter: this filthy sight, you see above. the 15 inch dead space above my kitchen cabinets. whose brilliant idea was this? some 7 foot tall man thought it would be a spiffy place to stash his things he didn’t want his “little woman” to find? ’cause face it, ladies. we’re not going up there to clean?
quite frankly, I was amazed I didn’t find a hobo or small family living up there. I certainly wouldn’t have noticed!
In the 3 1/2 years that we’ve lived here, I think I’ve cleaned up there twice! the worse part is, I’m sure when we move out in a month, I’ll just have to do it all over again!
and do you know how difficult it is to stand on a countertop that’s only 5 feet from the ceiling and you’re 5 foot 5″? I’m just now getting the feeling back in my neck, thank you.
it was also quite interesting getting that vacuum hose all the way up there! but I digress.
I’m just glad to get that out of the way. now, I can move on to bigger, greater and filthier tasks such as the oven, stove hood, shower stall, blinds and oh dear…the whole packing stuff up bit.
ew!

Kalurah,
I would still trade all those dirty, questionable areas you’re having to clean for a new, bigger house. Congratulations! It probably does feel weird having to thoroughly clean a house that you are leaving. Kinda like a waste?
