boxy…

I have found myself decorating my entire house with boxes, as of late.
this is not odd.
it’s really not.
as long as you take into account the reason I have boxes everywhere.
we are finally moving! it’s like a strange dream. I thought we would be stuck in this dinky 1,000 square foot duplex until the kids were ready to move out on their own.
don’t get me wrong. I was once absolutely smitten with this place. we moved from a small house at least half the size of this one! we like to refer to it as the “Bennett Estate”. as if it were a huge palatial dwelling.
hey! home is where the heart is. and I do hope we can carry our heavy hearts with us to the new place. we will soon make it our own and build brand new memories that we will later cherish.
it’s just a little sad leaving a place where you welcomed home your baby from the hospital. there is something pivotal about that.
it’s funny, in every place my husband and I have lived, we’ve had a special hallmark of our lives together in each one.
our first apartment: well…….there ya go, it speaks for itself.
our first “house” the Bennett Estate: we gave birth to our first two children.
our third (and twice as big) dwelling: we gave birth to our third child.
and now our fourth dwelling : 2 months after we move in, my “baby girl” will start her first day of kindergarten.
wow. it’s hard to believe we’ve had so many markers in our life, my husband and I. and with so many more, to come.
I can’t wait!
