motherly sacrifices…

look.
there in the drain.
that pile of suicidal follicles resembling a small rodent.

that’s the remains of every last drop of patience and control you have managed to maintain.

gone.

by all accounts, I should be bald now.
I should be dialing Hair Club for Women, as we speak.
or find a way to crochet my fallen hairs into a homemade wig.

don’t laugh.
you were so thinking it.

  1. We can go bald together friend. Although I’m incredibly grossed out by hair that is not still attached to a head. I would never dream about knitting it into anything! I’ll leave that bit of magic to you: )

  2. Ugh… my hair falls out now so much more than before I had Margot.

Another lovely tidbit about being a Mama that nobody tells you about!

  3. i crocheted a “powdered” wig once with mohair yarn. that’s kinda the same idea, huh?

i don’t notice my hair falling out more, though i got acquainted with 3 grey hairs that i never met before until yesterday. good times.

anyway, i LOVE getting comments from you! re: the rug, i was going to crochet it but thought i should braid it, since i haven’t done anything like that before. but now i’m thinking i’d like to crochet a rug – i do need a huge one for the guest room hahaha! if you do start a rug, remember to post it. 🙂

oh, maybe this is too personal, but are you hapa? i’m asking b/c you’ve mentioned your Japanese grandmaa couple of times. i just wanted to ask b/c i’m half korean and half caucasian. 😉

  4. that’s so freaky that you mentioned the powdered wig!
Your blog is one of the very first I started reading before I created my own and I remember seeing that wig!!!
I came VERY close to linking to the pic of it for this post!
    How weird is that?
Anyway, my father is half Japanese, which makes me a quarter. But people are constantly asking me WHAT I am.
I always like telling people, “Um, I am human. From the planet earth.” 😉 (He,He)

  5. pheeew!
i thought i was the only one loosing my hair lately… before i had my boys i had tons of it, every time i got a haircut i would ask the stylist to cut some of it off from underneath… ah.. not anymore 🙁

  6. Kalurah, I am so grossed out right now! I knew I shouldn’t have clicked on that link!

I’ll get you my pretty! And your little crocheted wigs too! : )

  7. That is so gross and yet, hilariously funny. I personally think I want the one that is called the Disco Wig. Just so that I can say that I have a disco wig.
Where does all of the lost hair of this world go? Hmmmmm.
