easy breathing…

It’s bright. It’s sun-shiny. There’s not a doctor or nurse in sight and the only sounds in the room are my sighs of relief.

We’re finally home.

Zach was able to keep his blood oxygen percentage above 93, OFF of his oxygen, so the doctor said he could be released.

He still needs to stay on his oral Steroids for 5 more days and keep up with his Nebulizer treatments until his nasty cough is gone.

But he’s breathing “on his own”. Without any help. That’s what matters.

If I hadn’t received all your words of comfort and encouragement, I think my spirit would have certainly broke.

Not Zachary. He knew all along that he would be okay. He had love and joy and hope in his heart. And certainly strength. Because without that, who can endure?

What a brave little son I have.

I cannot wait to share all of the love and the courage that is written about in full detail on this blog with him when he is older. He will see how brave he was, how scared I was and how loving the people (most, whom he hasn’t even met) were to him.

We have so much to be thankful for. We’re home, we’re alive, we’re breathing easy.
And we have some wonderful people out there thinking about us.

Thank you!

  1. well this post is good news, but I hadn’t read the other one. Oh my goodness Kalurah. I am sooooo sorry for your guys that you had to go through that. And after you had finally gotten a bit of a handle on the eczema, for this to flare up again in it’s place! Please, please, please remember that I work very close to your house and to the hospital, and have very flexible bosses, so if you EVER need anything (coffee, lunch dinner, yarn) at all let me know, please. Though I hope that a situation like this doesn’t happen again! I am glad to hear that your little man is better and at home. Also the weekend is here and that is always a good thing, right? 🙂
