Uncharted waters…

This is a first for me. I have never made my own jewelry before.
Unless you count hanging my mothers chandelier crystals from my ears when I was 11.

And I’m not.

As the daughter of a mother who has sold Avon since I was in the womb, I guess I never felt the need to buy or make my own Bling.

But my creative nerve is twitching as of late, what with all those pesky crochet projects I constantly have going on.
I am, quite honestly, tired of looking at those hooks.

I recently discovered a really cool process of felting wool by hand using a warm/ice water alternating method.

The result is a really unique bead that can be made into all types of jewelry.
Right now, I’m making earrings but soon, I will be adding necklaces and rings to the shop.

It’s something new and unexplored, which really calls to my incessant need for artistic fervor.
Well,…. that and I have about a million little wool beads lying around my sewing room right now that are crying out for some form of purpose.

You’ll find these cute little fuzz balls in my shop and you’ll see more and more trickle in slowly as I finish them.

Each pair comes in it’s own adorable little tin and ships to you for free!

On that note, have a fuzzy, wuzzy weekend, all!

  1. I absolutely love that you are now making ear rings! I’m very excited to see more!
    What can’t you do???

  2. Wow! You are brave. Drool runs down my chin when confronted with needles, thread, beads or anything related to Craft or Jewel. But I partake in the purchase. Pretty!

  3. Thanks for your comment on my Pony the Hat! I loved that little neck piece that Julia bought from you. It is very unique and classy at the same time.

  4. Yet again, something else that I’ve tried and don’t have the talent or patience for… I’ll just stick with photography!

But you do a GREAT job!

  5. seafoam!

    YOU should check it out!!!!

  6. I want some! I really like the Irish moss ones, but will have to wait since it sounds like those are really selling quick. You know how desperately I need jewelry, having sold Avon for over 30 years. Keep up the creative work!

  7. Those are adorable! I’ve been hankering to make jewelry lately too, and have dabbled a bit but I don’t have any cool beads yet. Love yours!
