pie hole…

okay, so everyone who knows me is familiar with the fact that I bake. wait….let me correct myself. I LOVE to bake. I live, eat and breathe baking. it’s just what I do. I do it without exception. sick, on vacation, 2 o’clock in the morning, broken arm…. (okay maybe never that last one.) but you get the picture. I enjoy baking.
well, I realized the other day, when I opened my refrigerator and noticed a couple pounds of unsalted butter in the door….hmmm…..that’s weird…I never have butter in here, for ANY length of time. in fact, whenever I decide on a recipe, I have to actually go hunt down my ingredients at the grocery store, as if it were a food safari in the wild.
it was then, I realized….it had been quite a while since I had fulfilled my culinary duties. probably due to all the craft projects I had been juggling for the past month or so.
one of my absolute favourite blogs to read is the cupcakebakeshop blog. she has the most divine recipes on there for the cutest little cupcakes. (don’t you find it odd, how we like to dress up food in ‘fancy clothing’ and trot it around like it’s a culinary fashion show, and then just precede to pop it down our hungry ‘pie holes’.) how insane is that? and yet, it works. we all love doing it, don’t we?
I have found myself a little ‘down in the dumps’ lately, as it were. and I think I finally figured out why….I actually have butter in my fridge, people, that’s not a good sign. it’s the biblical equivalent to the ‘signs of the last days‘.
not to worry….for the next few blog entries, I’ve thus decided to devote my time to baking and all things related to it. so be prepared to write down some yummy recipes that you can go hunt down the ingredients for, dress up, trot around and shove down your loved ones’ pie holes. ahhh, almost poetic, isn’t it?
