w.i.p…I picked up these cotton prints @ the local fabric store on Monday. love ‘em. I’ve been wanting to make either a table runner or place mats for my best friend, and finally spotted just the right fabric combo. perfection. I think I will piece the reds and the monochromes with others that I have [...]       who said you can’t love an inanimate object? they obviously never owned one of these sweet little puppies! my dreamy new Nikon D40 …lovely. I have only had a couple handfuls of time to play with it, but so far I am absolutely smitten, I mean I am in deep, deep smit! I keep seeing pics of gauntlets and think to myself, “those would be great with all my quarter length sleeve coats.”I wanted them in black, but found some charcoal tweed that just cried out to me, “buy me, buy me, oh please , take me home.” [...] here is a pic of a “thinking of you” card I made for my aunte Jacqlin. I sewed camel colored felt to a heavy weight cardstock first. then fused the lace border to the back of the pooh image and sewed that to the felt. I stitched on a cute vintage tortoise shell button to [...] a friend of mine is adopting her 5 month old niece and I made these booties for her baby shower. my first pair of crochet slippers. the pattern I based them on suggested you buy a small strip of elastic and sew it to the inside of the slipper. (ew!) that hideous image in [...] my friend Shelley had a boy in November and her nursery was “Classic Pooh”. I made this diaper cake for the baby shower based on the Classic Pooh color scheme.I had a blast making it, and I can’t wait to do another one. I keep waiting for someone I know to get pregnant. 3-tier [...] japanese inspiration… my grandma Suzuki gave me this Japanese children’s book called “The Tale of the Shining Princess” when I was little. This lotus bag reminds me alot of the beautiful illustrations in that book. there’s something about them that’s both rugged and delicate at the same time. I love it!when I found this [...]

asleep when he should be awake… my very first attempt of working with leatherette. let’s just say that I now have ALOT of leatherette scrap! I tried machine stitching it first but the fabric lining on the underside of the leatherette reared it’s tempermental head. It proved IMPOSSIBLE! and I don’t normally use “that” word [...] staying home to raise my 3 young children has caused me to reach down deep within my self and re-discover things that I have ALWAYS yearned to do and create, but never had time for before. how funny that having children would create more “time” for myself? time to ponder and reflect…and imagine again. just [...] |
