FREE pattern!!!

I have had quite a few people ask me for the pattern for just the crochet rose on my Jazz Baby Knit Headband pattern. I decided instead of selling it separately, I would just list it here for free.   It is also up on ravelry.
Hope you enjoy!   :)

Tea for Two, and Two for Tea….

teaandcrumpetspdflisting

It has taken me long enough….but I finally have a new pattern listed on ravelry and up in my etsy shoppe.

I have been too swamped as of late to work on anything Design-related but as this morning was spent at the Doctor’s office for 2 hours with a puking 4 year old, needless to say my day is being spent at home. Leaving plenty of time to work on my patterns. Yes…..pattern(S)! I should have the next one ready within the week……hopefully. For now, you will just have to settle for this little cutie.

If you would like to test it out, please comment and leave your email address or just email me. I will send you a pdf.

This pattern is a quick one and extremely easy! I think I have all the kinks worked out of the final draft but you know how it goes!  :P

Do let me know if you find any misspellings, miswordings, mistakes, etc. And as always….I LOVE seeing pics of your completed pattern!

Hoping you all have a fabulous Monday free from germs!!!   ;)

old is new again…

In keeping with Springtime and thoughts of Renewal, I have been planning for some time now to open up another etsy shop, featuring vintage items.
My mother helped me along greatly by giving me some items that were my Grandmothers. Mostly kitchen items that just sat in storage forever at her house.

I LOVE vintage pieces to bits but alas, do not have the room in my home to display them properly in all of their antiquarian glory.

Item SOLD

I also have alot of vintage childrens books that I have been meaning to de-stash along with paper ephemera. And my closet is laced with quite a few pieces of vintage clothing such as coats, blouses and hats.
It is my hope that I can share some of these beautiful items and someone will be able to give them their proper homage.

Michiko was the middle name given to me after my Great Aunte in Japan. I love the way it sounds up against “vintage”, so there you go!
Please do pop over and see the new shoppe and let me know what you think!

Senior Pics time…

Last week, I took my husbands’ nephew’s Senior pics. We went to Whitman College Campus. It is absolutely gorgeous this time of year with all of the ivy painting the grounds and climbing the bright red brick.
I had an excellent “model” to work with . I didn’t even have to ask him to pose. Or pull any teeth to get a shot! Of course, it probably helps that I am his Aunt-In-law. ;)

I really like how they all turned out. But this one in front of the Brick Columns is my favorite, by far.

Followed closely by the Creek Overview shot.

Congrats, Alan! Soon-to-Be-High School Grad!!!

Nine years and counting…

Saturday, I surprised my husband with a Special Day Away…just the TWO of us!

It was our 9 year wedding anniversary on Tuesday but with a full work week and three kids, we didn’t find the time to celebrate properly. We didn’t even exchange cards.

I had my sister come over for a sleepover Friday night, so we could sneak off early in the morning. A kid-free, work-free, stress-free day. Just us!

Our favorite place to visit when it’s just the two of us is Mary Hill Museum. We can take our time, slowly meander from Exhibit to Exhibit, actually “reading” each and every plaque.
No pulling children down from rafters and off of 17th Century Relics.

We could simply soak in the lovely works of art and pieces of Pacific Northwest History all around us.

The grounds of the Museum have beautiful Peacocks that gracefully mosey about the Gardens. They fit in perfectly with the serene surroundings and the pieces of local art scattered throughout.

The drive up the Gorge was equally lovely. The scenery, the company of each other….

Not to mention, we had no children to constantly interrupt us on the drive. No fights to break up.
Quarrels to settle.
Ahhhhhhhhhh….peace and quiet. Time to reconnect.

It’s comforting to know, that after 9 years together (and over 7 of which have been as Parents), we still enjoy spending time together. Just the two of us!
Happy Anniversary honey. I love you!

I know you must absolutely hate to have to give away part of your stash. Your stash is almost like an appendage–or at least, mine is!

I would love to win, and I would treat your stash as my own. :) As for what I would do with it… Well, I’d do what I do with most all my yarn. I’d pet it regularly until it tells me what it wants to be. LOL

Destash Giveaway!!!!!!!

NOTE :: Destash Giveaway is now OVER!!!!
Winner to be announced Saturday April 4th, 6am PDT

This week has been a rough one. Last week involved Bronchitis, antibiotics and cough medicine…..this week entailed a day and a half of excruciating tooth pain and a 3 hour Root Canal on Wednesday. Or……was it Thursday?????? ‘Errrrr……anyway, needless to say, I have been going stir crazy at home and thought it was about time for a little excitement around here (on my blog).

How about a Giveaway????!!!!!!!

I recently discovered that I have an allergy to Acrylic. I pick up the yarn, begin crocheting and all of a sudden, my nose is running and I am sneezing my brains out. It took a short while before I realized……..perhaps it’s the acrylic fiber. It never happens when I’m using wool, angora, cashmere.

Now that I’ve stopped using it, I haven’t had any problems since. Perfect! Problem solved. But that leaves me with a dilemma.

WHAT to do with all that acrylic and acrylic blend yarn in my stash?????

Well, dear readers…..I think you’ve figured out where I’m going with this. I will be giving away my ENTIRE stash, along with a spiffy Rattan Yarn Bag to hold it all in!
